Audio

Adjust audio in the Slide Timeline.
|
|
Press < Tab > in the main window to switch to timeline mode. Hold < CTRL > while dragging your mouse over the audio waveform to manipulate your audio.
|
 |
Trim soundtrack files directly within ProShow.
|
|
Double-click the soundtrack bar and click < Edit Fades and Timing > to launch the audio trimmer.
|
 |
Add multiple soundtracks to your slide show.
|
|
Just drag another audio file onto the soundtrack bar after the first one. You can also repeat a soundtrack by dragging another copy of the same file onto the soundtrack bar.
|
 |
Quickly sync your show to your soundtrack.
|
|
Choose Audio > Sync Show to Audio.
|
 |
Add a sound effect or voice-over to any slide.
|
|
Double-click on the slide you would like to add a sound effect to and then click the Sounds icon. Click < Browse > to add a sound or < Record Voice-Over > to add a voice-over.
|
Creative Tips and Tricks

ProShow has over 280 transition effects to choose from.
|
|
Click the Transition icon between two slides to access the Transition Chooser.
|
 |
Turn the composition lines on and off in Slide Options or Show Options.
|
|
Right-click in the preview window in Slide Options and click < Show Composition Lines >.
|
 |
Add a custom background to your entire show.
|
|
Go to Show Options and click the Background icon. Configure the Show Background as desired.
|
 |
Remove red-eye in Proshow.
|
|
Double-click on the slide containing the image with red-eye and click the Editing icon. Click < Red-Eye > and make changes as desired.

 |
Add motion effects to your slide show.
|
|
Double-click on the slide you would like to add motion to and click the Motion icon in Slide Options.
|
 |
Use built-in text effects to add interest to you captions.
|
|
In Slide Options, click < Captions >. Select Text Effects to apply to captions from the drop-down lists. Click < Select > to preview the effects.

 |
Make basic image adjustments in ProShow.
|
|
Double-click on the slide to make adjustments to and click the Editing icon. Make changes as desired.
|
 |
Trim video clips to exactly the portion you want to use in ProShow.
|
|
Double-click on the slide containing the video that you want to trim. With the video layer selected, click < Trim Video > in the Layers section of Slide Options.

Getting Help

Your registration includes free upgrades for one year.

You can check for new releases directly within ProShow by selecting Help > Check for Upgrades from the main menu.

Checking for CD and DVD library updates can fix problems and improve compatiblity.
|
|
From the Help menu, select < Upgrade CD and DVD Support > to make sure you have the latest burning support.

ProShow Help documentation contains detailed information on how to use this software.

Simply click the < Help > icon to access the program Help.

Check for upgrades anytime.

From the Help menu, select < Check for Updates > to see if you have the latest version.

Creating Output
 |
Make a disc for PC and DVD playback.
|
|
When outputting to DVD Disc or Video CD, check < Include PC Autorun > in Output Options.
|
 |
Easily transfer a show from one computer to another.
|
|
Click File > Collect Show Files from the main menu at the top of the screen to back up your show and all associated files.
|
 |
Choose which slide will be used as the Show Thumbnail on a menu.
|
|
In the Slide List, right-click on any slide and select < Set as Show Thumbnail >.
|
 |
Remove the Intro Show before your own show.
|
|
In the selected output dialog, go to Shows tab and uncheck the box next to < Include Intro Show>.
|
 |
Use the Safe Zone to make sure important parts of your show aren't cut off when viewed on a television.
|
|
Right-click in the preview window in Slide Options and click < Show Safe Zone >.

Burn a DVD directly from ProShow.
|

Click the DVD Disc button on the Main Toolbar.

Change the aspect ratio of your show.

Workflow
 |
Set the timing for multiple transitions or slides at once.
|

Simply select the slides you would like to apply a timing change to and make the change to any one of the selected slides.

Automatically add the file name or other information to a caption.
|
|
Click < Macro > button on the Captions section of Slide Options, then select < Predefined Macros > and choose the macro(s) that you wish to include in the caption.
|
 |
Apply a setting to multiple slides at once.
|
|
Right-click on any setting on the slide options screen and select < Apply to all slides >.
|
 |
Add an entire folder of images to your show at once.
|
|
Right click in the File List and select < Add All Files to Show >
|
 |
Add additional layers to a slide all at once in the Slide List
|
|
Hold down the < Control > key while dropping additional images or videos onto a slide.
|
 |
Use the Light Box view to view more slides at once than the Slide List.
|
|
Choose Window > Light Box. You can also float this pane outside of the ProShow workspace.
|
 |
Quickly add a caption to every slide in your show using Show Caption.
|
|
Go to Show Options and click the Show Captions icon. Any caption added here will be added to every slide in your show.
|
 |
Add all the selected images to a show template.
|
|
(Producer Only) From the Show > Show Templates menu, select < Add Selected Files to Template >.

User Interface
 |

Reset the window layout to its original settings.

Select Window > Default Window Layout from the main menu at the top of the screen.

Rearrange the window by dragging the panes around, then save your layout using the < Save Window Layout > option in the < Window > menu.

Switch view modes for the File List.
|
|
Right click in the File List and < Details > or < Thumbnails > to select how files are displayed.

Preview the slide you are working on without leaving Slide Options.
|
|
In Slide Options, click the green < Play > button to watch a preview of the slide, including transitions.
|
 |
Move from one slide to the next within Slide Options.
|
|
Use the blue arrows at the bottom of the dialog to move between slides.
|
 |
Change the sorting method used in the File List.
|
|
Right-click in the File List and choose < Sort by >. Select your desired sorting method from the list.

 |
Access many features by right-clicking in ProShow.
|
|
When in doubt, or if you just want to see what options are available, right-click in ProShow.
|

Preview your show in full-screen mode.
|
|
Right-click on the preview area and select < Full Screen Playback >.
