How to Move Your Slide Show to Another PC

Overview

Many of us work on multiple computers over the course of the day or week. You may have a work computer, a laptop and a home computer. When you build slide shows, you know it's important to have all your show files accessible at all times. A quick and easy way to keep all of your show content together is using the Collect Show Files feature. Collecting your show files backs up all of your show content to a single folder (or to a disc). This allows you to take any files used in your show, regardless of where they appear on your computer, and merge all your show content into one place. A new show file will be created which links to this merged content. Once you collect all of your show files, you can easily move them to another computer using a USB memory stick or a disc.

To Collect Show Files on a Disc:

1. Once you are ready to move your slide show from one computer to another, be sure to Save it.
   
2. Next, choose File > Collect Show Files.
   
3. Look at the Space Necessary for Collection section and make sure there is enough space to copy the contents to a disc.
   
4. In the Collect Show Files dialog, click next to Burn to DVD/CD.
   
5. Be sure to put a blank disc in your DVD or CD drive.
   
6. In the Writer drop-down menu, select the drive you would like to use.
   
7. In the Speed drop-down menu, select the speed at which you would like the disc burned.
   
8. In the Copies field, type in the number of copies you would like to create.
   
9. Click < OK > to copy the show files.
   

To Collect Show Files on a USB Memory Stick:

1. Once you are ready to move your slide show from one computer to another, be sure to Save it.
   
2. Next, choose File > Collect Show Files.
   
3. Look at the Space Necessary for Collection section and make sure there is enough space to copy the contents to your USB Memory Stick.
   
4. In the Collect Show Files dialog, click next to Copy to Folder.
   
5. Click < Browse > and select your USB Memory Stick.
   
6. Click < OK >.
   
7. The USB Memory Stick file path will appear in the Folder field.
   
8. If you would like to overwrite a folder on you USB Memory Stick, check the box next to Overwrite existing files.
   
9. Click < Collect > to collect the show files.
   

Once you have completed one of these methods for collecting your show, simply move the USB Memory Stick or disc to another PC. Copy the entire show folder to the destination of your choice. Open ProShow and then open the show you transferred.
