How To Take a Track from a CD and Add it to Your Show

Overview

Did you know that ProShow includes a feature that allows you to import music directly from a CD into your show? With the Save Music from CD option, it's incredibly easy. The track you choose to use is saved in the location of your choice and it can be used in any presentation. This feature eliminates the need to import tracks using a different program, saving you time and space on your computer.

Remember: If you are using a copyrighted CD for a slide show, unless the music is for personal use, you must have a license before distributing this music to the public.

How to Copy a Music Track from a CD:

Before you begin, make sure that you have ProShow open. Also, be sure that the CD that you want to use is in your CD or DVD-ROM drive.

  1. In the Main Toolbar, choose Audio > Save Music from CD.
  2. Review the Copyright Explanation. Click < Yes > if you comply with the terms and agree to continue.
  3. Click in the checkbox next to Get Info if you would like to retrieve artist and track information from the internet. You must have an internet connection to do so. Retrieving this info may make it easier for you to recognize and organize the music tracks after you save them.
  4. If you would like to save the track directly to your slide show, click the checkbox next to Add to Soundtrack. If you do not check this box, the track will simply be saved to your computer and not added to you slide show.
  5. In the Available Audio Tracks list, select the track that you would like to save from the CD.
  6. Click < Save Track >.
  7. Next, you will be prompted to select a location to save the music track to. Select a destination for the track and click < Save >.
