Frequently Asked Questions by our Customers
- How do I know if I'm eligible for a Free Upgrade?
To find out whether you are eligible for a free version upgrade, you need to know the date of your original purchase. This information should be in the original email you were sent when you first purchased the software. You are eligible for one year of free upgrades from the date of your original purchase. Contact support if you need to find your original date of purchase or request a copy of your product registration keys online.
- Do I qualify for the loyalty discount?

- Do you have a Mac version of ProShow?
Unfortunately, there are no Mac versions of our software available at this time. While we do not officially support it, many customers have reported to us that ProShow runs very well on Intel based Macs using Boot Camp.
- Does the Presenter work on a Mac?

- If I reinstall, will I lose my shows?
No. The uninstalling/re-installing of ProShow does not affect your saved slide shows in any way. However, keep in mind that shows created or modified (and saved) in ProShow Producer cannot be opened in ProShow Gold. ProShow also automatically creates backup versions of your show, just in case something unexpected was to happen.
- Why does this DVD look fuzzy on my HDTV?
The most common reason somebody experiences soft or blurry images with ProShow is when output options are not optimally configured. If you're planning on displaying your show on a 50-inch HDTV, DVD might not be the best option, as its limited to 720x480 (NTSC) pixels, meaning the show will have to be stretched to fit the big screen. This is most likely what caused the lack of quality and is why ProShow outputs directly to Blu-ray. For more information, read our article on creating a Blu-ray slide show in ProShow.
- Why doesn't this video file work with ProShow?
ProShow uses your system's codecs (files used to interpret video content) in order to read video files. When issues arise with reading certain video files, most of the time it's because of a missing codec, or a broken codec. Most problems can be resolved by running an installation that contains many commonly found codecs, such as a codec pack. If issues remain, you're certainly welcome to contact our customer support department for help. For information regarding how to add video to your slide show, read this helpful article.
- What happened to CompuPic?
CompuPic Standard and CompuPic Express have been discontinued. These products are no longer available for sale.
CompuPic Pro will still be available download, trial, and purchase. Technical support is still available for all registered CompuPic users.
- Are Photodex software products 64-bit compatible?
- ProShow - The latest release of ProShow Gold and Producer are fully supported under Windows XP and Vista 64-bit operating systems.
Note: It is still possible for hardware drivers to experience compatibility issues with 64-bit versions of Windows. We've found
this to be common with some video drivers and some DVD/Blu-ray device drivers. These types of issues are an issue between the device driver
and Windows. While this may result in problems while running ProShow, the issue is actually with the driver, and is outside of our control.
- CompuPic - CompuPic (all versions) is only supported in 32-bit editions of Windows XP and earlier. It is not officially supported on 64-bit platforms
or any version of Windows Vista. You are certainly free to install and use CompuPic on Vista or on 64-bit machines, but Photodex will not be able
to provide assistance with problems you may encounter, as the software was not designed for those platforms.
