Welcome ProShow Enthusiasts

We are looking to expand our beta group and welcome you to become a part of this exciting team.

The Photodex Beta Group is a team of dedicated users who provide valuable feedback about our products before they are released. The Beta Group gets a chance to test drive new versions, finding problems and making suggestions as they go. The feedback provided by the Beta Group plays a huge role in resolving potential problems before release.

Why Now?

Quite simply, we want more testers. Every few years, we do a big push to bring in new members. Last time we did this, the ProShow Enthusiasts forum had not yet become the lively community it is now. This time around, we can't imagine trying to expand our beta process without involving some of our most dedicated users.

Couldn't Photodex just test on a variety of machines? Why ask users to do it? No amount of machines can recreate the infinite number of ways that people use ProShow. It takes real people to do that. We've got a wide array of hardware to test on already. What we are after with the beta group is not just more hardware, but people who use the software in their own unique ways. It's not about how ProShow works in confined test cases and environments. It's about how ProShow works in the "wild". There's no substitute for actual user feedback.

What's Your Role in the Group?

ProShow can be used in many different ways. Every user has a different usage pattern. Every user is trying to create something unique and different. This creates a nearly infinite number of different cases that need to be tested. It's just not possible to test all of them, but the more support we get from the Beta Group, the closer we'll get.

Your role in the Beta Group will be to help test and verify the quality of our products through normal usage. This will ensure that the software is tested on a diversity of hardware and software configurations not available internally at Photodex.

Do you need to be an experienced user? Nope. People sometimes think that they are not experienced enough to be a tester. That's not true. Experience isn't necessarily a requirement. We need to test all aspects of the program, and we need to test it the way real people use it. We do need people who will push the limits, but we also need people who stick to the basics. The goal of testing is test as many different usage patterns as possible. Plus, if you're not experienced now, you might just find that participating in the beta group might change that.
