How to Make it

  1. Gather Your Photos, Videos & Music
Think about all the content you want to use in your slide show. Photos of the kids playing sports, candid shots from a recent summer BBQ, or maybe you took some photos or video of your local 4th of July fireworks show. All this can be easily added to your Summer slide show.

  2. Create and Edit Your Slides
ProShow's simple interface allows you to easily drag and drop your photos, videos and music right into a slide show. You can quickly re-order the photos in your show, sync your show timing with your music, and more. You can drop in any MP3, WAV or WMA file to use as your show soundtrack. To use a track from a CD, simply follow these directions.

  3. Using the Summer Fun Themepack
Download the free Summer Fun 2008 Theme Pack. It comes with 10 high-quality background images you can use to spruce-up your slide show. And be sure and check out the ProShow MediaSource line if you want more photo borders, backgrounds, music and templates for your slide shows.

  4. Create a Layered Look
Try enhancing your show by adding multiple photos to one slide to create a unique layered look. Simply layer two photos over the picnic (TP0608_Summer02.jpg) background image that is provided in the Summer Fun themepack. Add a slight motion rotate effect on each image to make it look like the photos are moving on the table. You can also add an outline and drop shadow to the photos so they stand out better from the background image. Here's an example of what this should look like.

  5. Create a Children's Sports Collage
Using the sports-themed background (TP0608_Summer09.jpg) from the Summer Fun Themepack, you can create a unique sports montage by layering three photos on one slide. In ProShow, re-size and arrange your images to fit nicely on top of your background image. Add a drop shadow or a photo border for a 3-D effect. Here's an example of a great-looking layout you can try.

  6. 4th of July Fireworks Photos & Videos
Incorporate a fireworks video clip into your slide show. Simply drag and drop a video clip into your show and use ProShow's built-in video trimmer to crop and edit your clip. If you plan on photographing a 4th of July fireworks show, check out this article on Photographing Fireworks. It contains helpful information about photographing fireworks and gives insightful tips on using the images in your show.

  7. Create a Custom DVD Menu
Once you are satisfied with your slide show, click on the Create Output button. Choose DVD and go to the Menus tab. Here you can use the Summer Fun menu templates to create a DVD menu for your slide show.

  8. Burn and Distribute
Planning on giving out copies of the Summer slide show to family and friends? With ProShow you can burn multiple copies of your slide show to DVD at once. Simply enter-in the number of copies you want to burn and click the Create button. Now, sit back, grab a cold drink and enjoy!
