Relive Your Summer Memories - Create a Photo Slide Show!

Summer is quickly winding down and the kids are off to school again. Don't let those summer memories fade! Gather your photos and videos to create a memorable slide show the entire family will enjoy watching for years to come. Here are some easy steps to get you started.

  1. Gather Your Photos and Videos
Gather the photos and video clips you want to use in your slide show. It's easiest to place everything in one folder on your computer, you can label it Summer 2008. With ProShow Gold, you simply drag and drop your content onto the slide list. You can rearrange, add or delete your photos and videos at anytime during the creation process.

  2. Include the Little Things
Maybe you've collected some sea shells from a beach vacation or kept plane tickets from a weekend getaway. These too can be added to your slide show! Simply shoot an image of the items and add them to your slide show. It's a fun way to add a memorable touch to your presentation.

  3. Frame Your Photos
ProShow Gold allows you to layer multiple images on a single slide. This means you can add decorative borders to your photos. Check out the all-new Travel Memories collection, it contains hundreds of royalty-free photo borders, slide backgrounds, DVD menus and more - all themed for travel and vacation photo slide shows.

  4. Add Motion to Your Photos
You can easily add a pan, zoom or rotate to any photo in your slide show. ProShow Gold has built-in motion effects that can easily be customized to your liking. Try a slow zoom-in on a family group shot or pan across a wide angle beach landscape photo.

  5. Set the Mood with Music
One of the most important elements of your slide show is your soundtrack. Think carefully about choosing a song that fits the mood and scenes of your summer slide show. For beach vacations try something upbeat and whimsical. For road trips or scenic getaways use audio that matches the scenery like a nice instrumental piece or solo guitar track. Also be sure and check out the broad selection of audio tracks that come with Travel Memories.

  6. The Two Song Rule
Have you ever sat through a really long slide show? Usually about one or two songs is the threshold to how long a slide show should last. Any longer and your audience might lose interest. Use the two-song maximum rule and your slide show should be right on target.

  7. Add Captions to Photos
Be sure and add descriptive captions to your photos. Include where you traveled to, who is in the photos, etc.. With ProShow Gold you can choose your font, caption color, add a drop shadow or outline, you can even use text effects to make your text fly on and off the screen.

  8. School Daze
All this focus on summer can make you and your family miss the long, care-free days of summer. Get everyone motivated about Back to School by including a couple shots from the first day of school. Getting ready, the perfect first-day outfit, off to the bus - all great photo ops! Add these photos at the end of your show with a note about an exciting and fun school year up ahead. To spice-up your back to school slide shows check out Students & Grads, the MediaSource title perfect for middle school, highschool and college students.

  9. Include a Credits Slide
Adding a scrolling credits slide to the end of your slide show is a fun way to show who was involved in the creation process. You can list out who took the photos, who "starred" in the show, what song was played and more.

  10. Upload to YouTube or Burn a DVD
ProShow Gold gives you over 40 options for outputting your slide show. To share your summer slide show memories online, use the built-in YouTube uploader. Your slide show will be automatically sent to your YouTube account where you can send links to friends and family to view. For a more permanent option, burn your slide show to DVD. You'll cherish the final product for years to come!
