Al is a photographer, who for 20 years documented his family's history using a film camera. In 2002, on a trip to Maui, it took Al an extra 30 minutes to go through security, as compared to his nephew who zipped right though with a digital camera. His wife said, "Enough is enough, go buy a digital camera!" The ease of shooting digital and the use software products like ProShow Producer and PhotoShop has made photography his passion ever since.
Al lives in Thousand Oaks, California (just north of Los Angeles) with his wife of 37 years, Barbara. Al has one daughter, Deborah, one son, Jason and one daughter-in-law, Brandy plus a grand dog, Pippin. Al has worked in the Defense Industry for 38 years and would like to spend more time on his passion for photography as he nears retirement. Al and Barbara enjoy travel and have traveled throughout the US, including Alaska and Hawaii (Maui, Kauai and the Big Island), the New England States, Washington DC and Chicago. Al has spent time photographing in Central California, Yosemite and Rocky Mountain National Parks. Al has also traveled to Europe (mostly Italy), the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Columbia and Tahiti. Al has expanded his photography to shooting events such as the Camarillo Academy of Performing Arts annual 2006 and 2007 (in July 2007) Celebration of Dance Performances and the California Music Academy (in June 2007).
