Photodex Corporation Proves Success with Release of Photodex PictureCDTM to
Help Photofinishers Go Digital.
Austin, TX March 5, 2001 - Photodex Corporation, a leading graphics
software publisher, released the Photodex Picture CDTM at PMA (February 11,
2001 Orlando, FL) offering photofinishers the freedom to incorporate
existing computer hardware with Photodex's software to create Picture CDs
for their customers. The release has proven successful with the
overwhelming response the product is receiving.
The Photodex Picture CD solution is a versatile solution offering only what
the photofinisher needs n terms of software and hardware. "This allows the
photofinisher to use existing hardware with our software to create a Picture
CD station", said David Eddy, VP Product Development for Photodex. The
Photodex Picture CD system is comprised of three components, the software,
the scanner, and the CPU. "We have found that most photofinishers already
have a computer and some even have scanners, two of the three components
needed for a Picture CD station." added Eddy.
The Photodex Picture CD is a software solution that incorporates a variety
of hardware including all TWAIN compliant devices. Photodex offers a wide
variety of services with the Picture CD solution including custom packaging
and internet uploading to the Picture CD website, PictureCD.com.
About the Photodex Picture CD Solution
The Photodex Picture CD software has been distributed for over 2 years on
millions of Picture CDs with agreements with Pakon (a Kodak subsidiary),
