Austin, Texas - February 19, 1998 - An OEM agreement between NovaStor/Authentex and Photodex Corporation provides the NovaStor/Authentex-DataSAFE encryption technology as an optional add-on module to Photodex's CompuPic graphics utility software. The DataSafe add-on module will allow CompuPic users to easily encrypt their graphics files from within CompuPic, ensuring privacy for file storage or e-mailing purposes. The prototype displayed at Fall Comdex was met with enthusiastic support from CompuPic users.

CompuPic for Windows is a powerful yet easy-to-use viewer / multimedia file manager / editor designed for use with all popular formats of graphic, video and sound files. CompuPic, one of the most popular viewers in the on-line world will be offering a special integrated module of the DataSAFE file encryption utility. DataSAFE is professional, high quality encryption software, looking and acting just like a real safe with door, lock and combination. The newly integrated DataSAFE Encryption Module for CompuPic provides a high level of confidence and security for CompuPic users wanting to encrypt their files, and to be able to send a encrypted file to other users who don't need software to open it - just a password.

Installation of the DataSAFE Encryption Module automatically adds a DataSAFE encryption option to the CompuPic tool bar. From within CompuPic, users simply select files to be encrypted, and click on the DataSAFE menu option to encrypt files using the BLOWFISH algorithm. Once encrypted the secured safe containing the selected files may be stored on the drive, diskette, or emailed / forwarded to any recipient; the recipient needs only the password to decrypt and access the files.

The DataSAFE Encryption Module for CompuPic will be available online February 19, 1998 through www.photodex.com . The module is only available through download from the Photodex site, and is a separately purchased module which works in conjunction with the CompuPic software. The module may be purchased online for $29.95 USD. The DataSAFE Encryption Module for CompuPic software adheres to the North American encryption standards and regulations.
